Space has a smell.

Most of us probably assume space has no smell, but not so says former NASA astronaut Mike Hopkins who once spent 166 days aboard the International Space Station. In a tell-all, “ask me anything” Reddit interview a few years back, Hopkins spilled some of space’s secrets – including the fact that is smells.

Hopkins said: “Space has a smell. And I don’t mean inside the space station. When visiting vehicle docks with the space station, there is ‘space’ between the two vehicles. Once the pressure is equalized, and the hatch is opened, you have this metallic ionization-type smell. It’s quite unique and very distinct.”

In the United States, strawberry shortcake parties were held as celebrations of the summer fruit harvest. This tradition is upheld in some parts of the United States on June 14, which is Strawberry Shortcake Day.

Psychologists say the transition from the weekend to the work week tends to be too abrupt for people who don’t give themselves enough time off. Some people will report headaches, or nausea.

A global poll conducted by career site Monster.com found that 76 percent of people in the U.S. report having really bad Sunday night blues compared to 47 percent of people in other parts of the world.
